EquiBalance is an informational tool. It does not replace professional veterinary or equine nutritional advice.

Not veterinary advice

The analysis, reports, and recommendations provided by EquiBalance are based on published nutritional standards (NRC 2007 Nutrient Requirements of Horses, 6th Edition) and the data you provide. They are intended as a guide to help horse owners understand their horse's nutritional profile.

Nothing on this website constitutes veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified veterinary surgeon or registered equine nutritionist before making significant changes to your horse's diet, especially if your horse has a known health condition.

Accuracy of analysis

The accuracy of any analysis depends entirely on the accuracy of the data entered. Results are only as reliable as the information you provide about your horse and its diet.

Product nutritional values in our database are sourced from manufacturer-published data and may not reflect current formulations. Manufacturers change product formulations periodically. We make reasonable efforts to keep product data current but cannot guarantee accuracy at all times.

Selenium and mineral toxicity

Selenium toxicity is a serious risk in horses. Excess selenium intake can be fatal. Where our analysis indicates selenium levels above safe thresholds, this should be treated as urgent. Do not exceed safe selenium limits without veterinary guidance.

Similarly, excess intake of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D) and some minerals can cause significant harm. Any indication of excess in your report should be discussed with a qualified professional before acting on it.

Individual variation

NRC 2007 requirements represent population averages and estimated minimums. Individual horses may have significantly different requirements based on gut health, metabolic conditions, stress levels, workload variation, and other factors not captured by this tool. A horse that appears "adequate" on paper may still have nutritional needs that require professional assessment.

Supplement recommendations

Supplement recommendations are generated algorithmically based on identified nutrient gaps and available product data. They do not constitute an endorsement of any specific product. Suggested quantities are starting points only — actual feeding rates should be confirmed with the product manufacturer and your equine nutritionist.

Liability

Hamlet Consultancy accepts no liability for any harm, loss, or injury to any horse or person arising from decisions made based on information provided by EquiBalance. Use of this service is entirely at your own risk.
